It was another great weekend of Bowls at Juan De Fuca LBC as they played host to both the Women’s and Men’s Fours Provincial Championships. With much on the line as both the Gold and Silver Teams will represent British Columbia at the Canadian Championships in August on these very greens.
First up for the Women it was Mary Wright and her team made it through the tough field on their way to a Gold Medal performance over Josephine Lee as they game was finished after the 16th end. This was a battle of the titans as both Teams were stacked with top players and multiple Provincial Champions.
In the Men’s Division it was the return of Chrisite Graham, after some time off he came back to take his Team through to the finals and win the title. In a great final game it was Christie beating out local hero David Mathie and his Team who took advantage of hometown greens to make there way through the field and onto the Silver medal.
Congrats to everyone who played and a special thanks to all the Umpires, Volunteers and to the Juan De Fuca LBC for hosting the Championships.
