The BC Youth Championships was held over the weekend and it was a great turnout as the Province’s best Youth Bowlers took to the green to win the right to represent BC at the Canadian Youth Championships being held later this summer at the St. James Lawn Bowling Club in Winnipeg.

It was last years Champ Emma Boyd who would hit the top spot on the podium as she defeated Sierra Trueman in the gold medal game. This caps off a great season so far for Emma as she has been on winning streak having skipped the Gold Medal Fours Team at the BC Championships a few weeks ago. She will now head off to Winnipeg to represent BC where she finished with a Bronze Medal at the 2017 event in Nova Scotia.

In the Girls Bronze Medal match it was Luci Ewen who would make it to the podium as she defeated Amanda Tremblay from the Tsawwassen Lawn Bowling Club for the bronze medal.

In the Boys Championship game it was Auzzie Chambers who would eventually defeat Jason Valchar in a great final. Auzzie will also be heading to Manitoba to represent British Columbia at the Canadian Youth Championships at. The Championships is open and as expected a number of BC players are also expected to participate in the event.

In the Bronze Medal match it was Owen Tambley from the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club who had the win over 2017 BC champion Trevor Birrell.

Congratulations to all the players that took part in the event as you did your Clubs proud to be out on the greens. Thank you to all the Volunteers who made this Championship a memorable one for all the participants. Also a big thank you to all the Umpires who helped make it a great event.
