After a week of some great Bowling, up and down weather, British Columbia would leave the 2018 Canadian Mixed Pairs Champions as Oak Bay LBC’s Brent Jansen and Karen Evans would become the 2018 Canadian Champions.

At this years event on home soil, British Columbia would have two teams participating in this years Championships. It was Brent Jansen and Karen Evans who would participate as British Columbia “B” who would eventually make it through the round robin and sit in 1st place, with their only loss coming last in the week when they had already qualified. Finding their groove on the Qualicum Beach greens, they would make their way to the finals against a strong Alberta team who they already beat once 18-14.

The duo from Oak Bay would do no wrong in the finals once again as they would hold their composure and take home the Gold Medal 16-13 in a great match that saw bowl for bowl shots.

The Bronze Medal would go to Manitoba who would beat New Brunswick 22-16.

Congratulations to Brent Merchmant and Louise Mason also from the Oak Bay LBC who represented BC on and off the greens as Champions.

Also to the Qualicum Beach LBC who put on a great Championship for all of the competitors. Also a special thank you to all the volunteers who contributed their time throughout the week. And to George Cubiss once again who had his Team of Umpires out in full force to make sure all was well on the greens.
