B.C.’s senior triples team’s headed out east to Quebec in search of gold. Things were starting off well for the men and women – both Richmond based teams – as they both got out to a nice start. The women’s team of On-Kow Au (Skip), Rainbow Lung and Shirley Lai were up 2-0-1 after the third round and the men also had two wins but one narrow loss.

Stephen Lau (Skip), Kelvin Lai and Peter Lee then took a turn for the worse, not able to post another win until their last round robin match against Manitoba – the eventual bronze medalists. Gold in the men’s went to Nova Scotia and silver to Alberta.

The women also followed along in round four and five with a couple scary losses but picked up the pace later in the week. They would find themselves ranked third and in the bronze medal game.

Unlike the rest of the week, the rain came down delaying the tension of the medal games. But Au’s team, a calm and cool trio, easily swiped the bronze medal from Nova Scotia in a 15-7 victory.
