Westlake and Sidel Off To Australia With Team Canada

Pricilla1__nPricilla Westlake and Jaymee Sidel are off to Australia to compete in the 2016 World Junior Championship being held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club in Queensland.

This will be the first time that the two BC friends have both competed at the International level together. Not only will the two girls be there, Canada will have 5 players in total at this years Championships. Grant Wilkie (Saskatchewan), Cameron Lefrense (Nova Scotia) will be competing in the Boys division, along with Stirling Wood (Ontario) who will also be playing in the Championships. Traveling with the Team will be Coach Darryl Fitzgerald (Ontario). There will be some extra home Country support already in Australia, as Broadbeach Bowls Club is home to Canadian Ryan Bester, who will be onsite helping organize the Championships.

This is a great opportunity for our young Canadian stars to show their stuff at such a high level Christine van Reeuwyk/Oak Bay News Jaymee Sidel, Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club March 2016tournament. We wish Team Canada safe travels and the best of luck over the next couple of weeks.
