With more than 50 family, friends, coworkers and bowlers there to cheer her on, Josephine Lee was inducted into the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame during the Class of 2025 Induction Banquet on Friday, April 10th at Burnaby Riverway Clubhouse.
It was a lavish affair where Josephine and her fellow inductees, Sean Fleming (athlete), Ariana VanDerStarre (coach), and Susan Kirkby and Farhan Lalji (builders), were paraded in by a piper and then, after dinner, the inductees were honoured individually for their accomplishments. Each gave a speech in response. Josephine, despite saying she was nervous, did a great job and, notably, included a short but moving tribute to her late husband, Freeman Watt, to conclude her words.
