The Fours Championship was played at Juan De Fuca LBC as Annie and Davie Mathie, along with an army of volunteers were on the case again, doing a fantastic job with the greens and accommodation for the bowlers. With a full slate of Teams of both Women (16) and Men (16), all were competing for the right to represent British Columbia at the 2019 Canadian Championships which will be held in Burlington, ON on Aug 20-25, 2019.

The greens were in incredible shape as per usual at JDF, where the Teams would play a round robin, sectional play to determine the top 8 Teams. After being seeded based on their results, they would would have to make their way through the playoff knockout rounds, to get to the Championship game.

In the Women’s division it was the Team of Linda Ng, skipped by superstar Pricilla Westlake that would get over the line versus a tough Team skipped by Bobbie-Jean Charlton. Team Mary Wright would eventually win the Bronze Medal game.

On the Men’s side it was no surprise as Christie Graham would me retired Fire Fighter Carrie Manns in the Final, as both teams reined supreme throughout the weekend. Earl Luk would take home the Bronze Medal as he would hit the podium once again.

Both Team NG and Team Graham will head to Burlington to represent British Columbia at this years Canadian Championships. Congratulations once again to all competitors and a massive thank you to all the Umpires and Volunteers that made the event possible.
