Throughout the weekend of July 04-06 the Men’s best Provincial pairs teams came together at the beautiful New Westminster LBC for their bid at capturing the title as the provinces Gold medalist. 24 teams assembled on the Friday and began the competition through the modified round robin 6 game gauntlet.
Sunday saw 8 teams go through to the playoff rounds which held plenty of excitement for the large, enthusiastic crowd on hand.
The sunny days, and 14 second greens made the environment and semi-finals one for making.
Jim Deholke and Steve Main squared off against, Cary Manns and Ryan Pollard in one semi final where James MacGowan and Aaron Almeida squared off against Paul Lee and James Chen on the other side of the bracket.
After two thrilling semi final matches, the finals were set, as Manns/Pollard and Lee/Chen would play in the finals for the Gold medal and the opportunity to represent B.C in Edmonton AB at the National Championships later this summer.
After a great game, fantastic bowls and terrific excitement, Congratulations to Cary Manns and Ryan Pollard for winning the Gold.
A job well done also to our silver medalists Paul Lee and James Chen.
