In line with the recommendations of the 2024 Bowls BC Games Committee, the Bowls BC Board has officially decided that Bowls BC will not participate in the 2024 Canadian Championships, should the Championships be held. To date there has been no official announcement from Bowls Canada as to the status of the 2024 Canadian Championships, the Province or City it will be hosted at, along with the dates of the event. This combined with lack of communication with the Bowls BC Board has added to this decision as we are hoping that this will change in the future. We are looking at other options, including tournaments across North America and International Countries that might be a better fit for Bowls BC members and our Provincial Champions.
Bowls BC has decided, to conduct a full roster of Provincial Championships, including Indoor Singles, Outdoor Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, Mixed Pairs, Senior Triples and Youth. The winners will receive the usual trophies and medals, but will not be eligible to participate in the 2024 Canadian Championships, again, if they are held.
With the Provincial Championships being held, we are finalizing the BC clubs that have considered hosting a Provincial Championship in 2024. Here is the proposed schedule for the 2024 Provincial Championships.
The Bowls BC Board does appreciate all the support and effort that has been given from Bowlers across the Province of British Columbia. The Board will continue to work to find the best path forward for all Bowls BC members.
