info@bowlsbc.com Under the hot sunshine in beautiful Stanley Park, the Provincial Triples were held before a large spectator audience. There were twenty Men’s teams and fourteen Women’s teams registered. Each team played a modified round robin championship consisting of five games played by each team over six rounds held on Friday and Saturday. Sunday saw the final eight teams from both disciplines playoff for the championship medals and plaques.
In the Women’s discipline, the team of Bonnie Smith, Stina Sorensen and Pat McKenzie played the team of Vivien Chan, Sarina Man and Gigi Chan for the Gold with Vivien’s team being triumphant. Bonnie’s team won the Silver medal. The Bronze medal game was played by the team of Rainbow Lung, Alex Lam and Lisa Cheung against the team of Suphin Nakutnok, Anil Khan and Misan Chan. With Rainbow Lung’s team winning the Bronze medal.
In the Men’s discipline, the team of Kin On Lau, Gonzo Wong and Patrick Sum played the team of Rick Applegath, Doug Van Os and Ed Chu for the Gold with Kin On’s team being triumphant. Rick’s team won the Silver medal. The Bronze medal game was played by the team of Philipe Lalonde, Brent Knudslien and Mehdi Bahrami against the team of Cary Manns, Ryan Pollard and Clement Law. With Philipe Lalonde’s team winning the Bronze medal.
Both Gold medal winning teams will represent Bowls BC at the Canadian Championships being held in Edmonton in August.
Next week we are conducting the Men’s Pairs Championships at the New Westminster LBC and the Women’s Pairs Championships at the North Vancouver LBC. Come out, give the teams support and watch some fantastic bowls.
