The Vernon Lawn Bowling Club was host to its 18th Annual, Funtastic Mixed Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament held over the Canada Day long weekend, July 1st - 3rd, 2016. Sixteen teams participated in the event this year which allowed a change in format for the Flight Finals.

The tournament opened on Canada Day, and our competitors and volunteers showed.

Congratulations to the 2016 BC Senior Men's Triples Champions: David Mathie, George Cubiss, Arthur Harrison - they will now represent British Columbia in Halifax, Nova Scotia later this summer. The Gold Medal Match saw "A" Section Winner Team Eric Leung playing Team David Mathie. In a tight final it was Davie Mathie walking away with the Senior Triples title..

Mary Wright, Ann Mathie, Ann Van Bastelere Bowls BC would like to Congratulate the Team of Mary Wright, Ann Mathie, Ann Van Bastelere on winning the 2016 BC Senior Triples. The tournament was held this week at the Parksville LBC this week. They will now head to Halifax, Nova Scotia where they will represent British.

Players from across the Province will head to the BC Junior & Under 25 Championships which is taking place for its second consecutive year at the Sidney LBC. This is a great opportunity to watch the stars of tomorrow as there will be a total of 20 participants trying to become this years Champions. Most.

The BC Senior Triples continues to roll on at the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club (Men) and Parksville LBC (Women) - This year the Provincial winners will be off to compete in the Canadian Championships which is being held in Nova Scotia at the Dartmouth LBC & Wanderers LBC. As per usual the Juan De Fuca greens were in great condition as this year JDFLBC hosted the 2016 BC Singles Championships. With some exciting games and wild finishes it was Mary Wright and Gordie Fall taking the titles and moving on to represent British Columbia at the Canadian Championships being held this year.

The final day of the BC Pairs has come and gone as it was a great weekend at the New Westminster Lawn Bowling Club. With less then ideal weather conditions all weekend the skies finally opened up to bring some sunshine for the final games on Championship Sunday. We have received information regarding the Canadian Junior & Under 25 Championships this year. The deadline to book rooms with the host hotel is June 15, 2016. It will be another busy year this year for BC Championships as players will be hitting the greens from across the Province to earn the right to represent BC at Canadian Championships throughout the Country. Its another jammed packed schedule this year, as British Columbia will be hosting 4 National Championships and 1 International Competition.
