This is the last week to get your entries into Bowls BC for The Champion of Champions Pairs Tournament as it is right around the corner. This is a great opportunity to get out and play the Pairs Champions for each Club around the Province. The Bowls BC Champion of Champions Pairs is a competitive.

Last weekend saw the Junior Girls play for the rights to represent B.C. in what was reportedly a very close competition at the Kelowna Lawn Bowls Club. After the first day of play in this Provincial championship, sponsored by Loopykums Pond & Koi and Health is Bliss, the competition was tied in the top three spots.

Last year’s National Triples silver team and Provincial Pairs Champions will be headed to Winnipeg. Even though the blistering heat was in full affect at the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club, no one likely wanted the men’s final game to end. But after 16-ends of play, the score was 17-16, in what was the closest final.

The first weekend of July will see 9 men’s and 9 women’s team compete in the Provincial Fours Championship at Juan De Fuca Lawn Bowls Club on Vancouver Island. This will be the first major Championship of the 2014 season. Noticeable teams in the mix are 2013’s National Fours Men’s Gold medalists: Christie Grahame, Dave Baldwin,.

The 2014 Canadian Singles has been going on over the past week and BC has been well represented throughout the tournament as 5 players from BC attended the National Event to try and stake claim for the rights to head over seas to represent Canadian at the 2015 World Championships. That time of year is already upon us as Bowls clubs around the Province have started to open their doors for the 2014 outdoor season. There have been some great turnouts for the Opening Days as Bowls BC President Jim Aitken has been making the rounds to as many clubs as possible. It has been.

Here are the standings after day 1 of the BC Indoor Championships. The players are in a round robin format for the first three games then will be reduced to a straight knockout format.
