British Columbia resident star lawn bowler, Pricilla Westlake from Tsawwassen LBC is no stranger to the Australian public, as she is making another trip overseas to a place which is quickly becoming her second home. Pricilla will spend the next 60 days in Australia, playing in three events. The 2018.

This past weekend saw Bowls BC and the Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club host some of the biggest and brightest under 25 stars at the Youth Winter Indoor Bowls tournament. This was a two-day competition that saw players from across the Province hitting the carpet to compete in this newly formed event that has.

All packed up and ready to go, Victoria, BC's own Carah Webster is heading off to her first International Competition on the Gold Coast of Australia. Webster is the current Under 25 Canadian Champion and will be representing Canada at the 2018 World Youth Championships being held at the Broadbeach Bowls.

The 2018 Outdoor Provincial Championship season is fast approaching and Bowls BC is requesting that all cubs interested in hosting a Provincial Championship submit an “Application For Hosting A Provincial Championship” form.  The Application form (Form EVT003A) is to be submitted online and is available on the Bowls BC Website; the link is.

The Bowls BC Board will be holding its AGM at the Tsawwassen Lawn Bowling Club. The meeting will take place on March 24th, 2018 at 11:00am. This year once again Bowls BC will be offering Officiating Courses that will be facilitated by Head Umpire George Cubiss. In the past couple years, George and his Team have worked tirelessly, to ensure that the Province has qualified umpires throughout the districts. This year will be no different as courses will be held throughout.

A new year brings new opportunity, as the 2018 Indoor season has kicked off and Bowls BC will offer 4 Provincial Indoor tournaments once agin this year, along with a qualifier that will be held at Qualicum Beach LBC for the Vancouver Island members. Last year Bowls BC created these new Provincial Championships to add to.

To say it was a great experience would be an understatement as Emma Boyd returned to British Columbia with her first International Medal. Emma recently attended the 2017 World Junior Championships which was held at Newport IBC in Wales, UK from December 5th to 8th with players competing from England, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland, Scotland.
