BC's Michael Leong has claimed Gold at the 2019 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships which were played at the Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club in Kitchener, ON. August 27-August 30th. It was a fantastic weekend of lawn bowls as New Westminster was the setting once again this year as they hosted the 2019 British Columbia Mixed Pairs Championships. Carey Manns / Gigi Lai were a force to be reckon with all weekend as they would go undefeated through a tough field to eventually win the gold.

To say it was a dominate performance would be an understatement, as the BC Youth Lawn Bowlers put on a massive display of excellence over the week at the Juan de Fuca LBC at this years 2019 Canadian Youth Championships. The 2019 Canadian Youth Championships are set to begin at the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowling Club in Victoria, British Columbia. The competition will take place from Tuesday August 6 and go to August 10, 2019 and will feature the top youth bowlers from across the country in men’s and women’s Under 18 and Under.

Qualicum Beach LBC was home to this years BC Senior Men's Triples Championship. The winners of this event will represent British Columbia at the Canadian Senior Championships September 13-17, 2019 which will be held at the Beaconsfield LBC in Quebec. After a weekend of some great action the Gold Medal came down to the two powerhouse.

The Port Alberni LBC proved again to be a very accommodating and suitable Provincial venue.  The green was superbly prepared and continued to be in great condition throughout the championship.  The Club provided lots of healthy meals and a variety of beverages complimented with trays full of fresh veggies and fruit and home-baked goodies.  Bob.

The Fours Championship was played at Juan De Fuca LBC as Annie and Davie Mathie, along with an army of volunteers were on the case again, doing a fantastic job with the greens and accommodation for the bowlers. With a full slate of Teams of both Women (16) and Men (16), all were competing for.
