This year once again Bowls BC will be offering Officiating Courses that will be facilitated by Head Umpire George Cubiss. In the past couple years, George and his Team have worked tirelessly, to ensure that the Province has qualified umpires throughout the districts. A new year brings new opportunity, as the 2018 Indoor season has kicked off and Bowls BC will offer 4 Provincial Indoor tournaments once agin this year, along with a qualifier that will be held at Qualicum Beach LBC for the Vancouver Island members. To say it was a great experience would be an understatement as Emma Boyd returned to British Columbia with her first International Medal. Emma recently attended the 2017 World Junior Championships which was held at Newport IBC in Wales, UK from December 5th to 8th with players competing from England, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland, Scotland.

There will be a two-day winter fun at the Indoor Facility, Feb 17th & 18th, 2017 at the Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club for British Columbia lawn bowlers aged under 25.  Pick up from ferries available.  Food, accommodation and ferry travel funded by Bowls BC for athletes.  Includes t‑shirts and awards.

The 2017 Canadian Indoor Singles Championships was played last week in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Pacific Indoor Lawn Bowling Club. This is an annual tournament that has the winners heading to Warilla, Australia to represent Canada and play in the World Cup next March in Australia. This year’s Indoor Singles Championship saw the same result.
